Offering

John 12:1-10

After reading this passage, this is the thought I landed on: Do I give because I feel like I have to, or do I give to Jesus because he is Jesus? Is giving something that I do because it is just the “right thing to do?” I’m not convinced that is the point of bringing a gift or an offering. I think it is supposed to have more to do with Jesus… giving to Jesus because he is Jesus. What do you think?

Good Friday is one week away. In my mind it is a bigger “gift” day than even Christmas. It marks the day Jesus gave himself…. I think it begs the question, what am I giving and why?
