It is time for another song! I have recently discovered a duo called All Sons & Daughters, and I love their work. They have a very mellow-acoustic sound that is fantastic. Their first full length album, called Season One, flows in more like movement to movement than song to song.
There is one particular cut that has stood out to me during these first few days of Lent. It’s called Brokenness Aside. The body of the lyrics says,
Cause I am a sinner
If its not one thing its another
Caught up in words
Tangled in lies
You are the Savior
And you take brokenness aside
And make it beautiful
For me, this is part of the reflection of the Lenten season. To realize that I am a sinner, unable to put things together on my own, but that Jesus is an amazing Savior, who does make something beautiful.
It is high time that I start writing again. It has been an embarrassingly long time since I posted anything of worth. But I decided that needs to change. In a week, we will enter the season of Lent. As I am really excited for the season, my goal is to post a few thoughts along the way.
In the meantime, enjoy this awesome video that came to my attention today. It totally made me say, “What?? No way.”
I realize it’s been a very long time since I’ve posted a song, but I wanted to get back at it! This summer I discovered (thanks to my really awesome friends) a band that has become one of my favorites. Rend Collective Experiment is a group out of the North of Ireland. Their creativity in lyric and melody is refreshing and awesome. Give them a listen, check out their website, then buy an album! It’s not often I say to buy the album- but this one is totally worth it.
