Week Four of Engage the Word

Remember together!
Start the week by remembering the Big Idea from Sunday and the spend time memorizing the scripture focus. Put the memory verse in a place that your family will see it through the week.

Big Idea: Entire Sanctification – We believe that after salvation, God desires each individual to be fully submitted in thoughts, attitudes, decisions, emotions, and lifestyle to the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Memory Verse for the week:  “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2 NLT

Read Together!
Spend time each day reading the passages for the week.

Monday: Matthew 14:22-36 (Lord, Save me)

Tuesday: Mark 5:1-20 (What is your name)

Wednesday: Luke 10:25-37 (What must I do?)

Thursday: Luke 22:1-47 (Who is greater?)

Friday: John 18:1-40 (What is truth?)

Saturday: Acts 3:1-4:37 (By what name did you do this?)

Sunday: Acts 8:26-40 (May I be baptized?)

Talk together!
Discover biblical truth by talking together about the scripture.

Who are the characters and what happened?

Have you ever heard this story before?

What do you think God wants us to learn from this story?

Does this story or our discussion change they way you think or what you knew about the Bible?

Pray together!
Recording praises and requests in a journal will help you (and your family) continually recognize what God is doing!

What can you praise God for each day? Are you waiting to see God’s work in your life somewhere or in someone else’s life?

Pray God’s will for your child, your friends, your family, by praying scriptures. Insert someone’s name in the blank as you pray.

“Jesus, I pray that __________ will allow You to show him/her how to live a holy, transformed life.” (Romans 12:1-2)
